Bryant Miller Olive Attorneys Ken Artin and Cari Roth Named among State’s Legal Elite by Florida Trend Magazine
TALLAHASSEE/ORLANDO – Florida Trend Magazine has announced the selection of Kenneth R. Artin and Cari L. Roth, attorneys with Bryant Miller Olive, as among Florida's Legal Elite. Both lawyers were chosen by their attorney peers statewide for this prestigious title. The Legal Elite represent only 1.7 percent of the 56,513 Florida Bar members who practice in the state. Artin was selected for inclusion in the public finance area and Roth was selected in the environmental and land use areas.
Ken Artin has been actively practicing public finance law for 20 years and is the managing shareholder of Bryant Miller Olive's Orlando office. He has represented municipalities, counties, school districts and special taxing districts as disclosure counsel, bond counsel and special tax counsel. He has experience with both general obligations, backed by the full faith and credit of the political subdivision, and with revenue obligations including lease-purchase financings. Artin is also active at the national level through his involvement with the National Association of Bond Lawyers. He is a regular panelist, along with members of the Securities Exchange Commission staff, at NABL's annual conference in Chicago on the topic of legal issues related to the adequacy and fairness of disclosure for initial public offerings of tax-exempt financings. He took an active role in the NABL response to the Securities Exchange Commission's initial release of Rule 15c2-12 and the recent NABL response to the US Treasury's proposed revisions to Circular 230.
Roth is resident in the Tallahassee law offices of Bryant Miller Olive and chairs the firm's Land Use and Governmental Consulting practice areas. Governor Jeb Bush recently announced her appointment for a four-year term to the Florida Environmental Regulation Commission. Prior to returning to private practice, she served four years as General Counsel and Assistant Secretary of the Florida Department of Community Affairs, where she had a key role in negotiating major growth management legislation during her tenure. She has extensive expertise in matters pertaining to land use, growth management and infrastructure issues, as well as governmental programs involving environmental protection, agriculture and transportation.
Florida Trend's Legal Elite is a program that recognizes top lawyers who have earned the professional trust and confidence of other Florida Bar members. Over 12,000 ballots were cast in the selection process for 2005-2006.
