Stephen L. Johnson, Jr., joins Bryant Miller Olive
ORLANDO – Ken Artin, managing shareholder of Bryant Miller Olive's Orlando office, announced that Steve Johnson has joined the firm and will focus his practice primarily in the public finance, energy and utility areas.
Johnson has extensive experience in complex commercial transactions and financing arrangements. For twelve years, he handled major acquisition activity for Saudi Aramco, including the financing and purchase/construction agreements of approximately $1.8 billion in transportation assets. His transactional experience also includes conducting due diligence work and negotiating documentation for international and domestic M&A activity. He also has handled several bond validation suits for the City of New Orleans and the State of Louisiana. Before joining Bryant Miller Olive, Johnson handled public finance matters at Foley & Judell in New Orleans, Louisiana. He acted as bond counsel in numerous revenue, sales tax and general obligation bond issuances for a variety of municipalities and political subdivisions, including a revenue issuance for a public utility to provide fiber optic internet access to its community. He is a member of the Louisiana Bar, Texas Bar and National Association of Bond Lawyers. He received a J.D. degree cum laude in 1982 from Tulane University and later in his career an L.L.M in Taxation from the University of Florida. Mr. Johnson is not currently admitted to practice in Florida.
