Governor Bush Appoints Cari Roth to Environmental Regulation Commission

          TALLAHASSEE – Florida Governor Jeb Bush has announced the appointment of Bryant Miller Olive attorney, Cari L. Roth, to serve a four-year term on the state's Environmental Regulation Commission. The ERC is the standard setting authority for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and approves regulatory standards relating to air pollution, water quality and waste management throughout the state.
          Roth is resident in the Tallahassee law offices of Bryant Miller Olive and chairs the firm's Land Use and Governmental Consulting practice areas. Prior to returning to private practice, she served four years as General Counsel and Assistant Secretary of the Florida Department of Community Affairs, where she had a key role in negotiating major growth management legislation during her tenure. She has extensive expertise in matters pertaining to land use, growth management and infrastructure issues, as well as governmental programs involving environmental protection, agriculture and transportation. She was named by Florida Trend Magazine as among Florida's Legal Elite in the fields of environmental and land use law.
          Florida's Environmental Regulation Commission is created under Section 20.255(7), Florida Statutes, and Commission members serve as an unpaid citizenry board requiring Senate confirmation. Roth's appointment to the ERC is for a term beginning December 20, 2005 and ending July 1, 2009.
