REGIONAL DEAL OF THE YEAR WINNERS ANNOUNCED
The Bond Buyer’s editors recently announced the finalists for its sixth annual Deal of the Year Awards, recognizing 10 of the country’s most innovative municipal bond issuers for transactions that financed projects including bridges, hospitals, schools, water, environmental protection, an airport, student housing, affordable housing, and military housing.
The 2007 awards, which considered deals that closed between Oct. 1, 2006, and Sept. 30, 2007, drew nearly 100 nominations ranging in size from several billion dollars to just a few million.
The Louisiana Public Facilities Authority issued $59.3 million in tax-exempt and taxable bonds for the Black & Gold Facilities Project for privatized student housing on the campus of Grambling State University. Bryant Miller Olive served as Underwriter’s Counsel to RBC Dain Rauscher in connection with this financing. Patti Grant-Wilkinson and Keirston Woods completed this project from the firm’s Washington, DC office.
Ms. Grant-Wilkinson has worked on financings for at least 15 privatized student housing projects, and with over 25 higher education institutions during the course of her public finance career.
