Barbara Auger’s career has encompassed private legal practice, as well as top leadership positions with two state agencies. That experience, enriched by Ms. Auger's perspective on the public procurement process and the impact of emerging technologies on state operations, significantly enhances her ability to counsel, represent, and promote diverse client interests in state agency, executive, and legislative arenas. Ms. Auger currently chairs the firm’s Government Procurement practice area. Her practice is focused on assisting her clients to develop and maintain public sector business. Ms. Auger provides strategic political, legal, and business development counsel throughout the entire sales cycle. As an "AV" rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, she effectively provides legal representation and counsel to clients in administrative matters and throughout the procurement process. After years in private practice representing both private and public sector clients, in 1999 she was called to serve as General Counsel for the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation, leading an 80-member legal team in enforcing the rules and regulations that govern licensed businesses and professions. As a key policy advisor and chief legal officer for the Department, she was called upon to provide counsel and advice on matters relating to public contracts, ethics, gift laws, open meetings and public record regulations. Thereafter, she was appointed Deputy Secretary of the Florida Department of Management Services. In that role she collaborated with the Agency's Secretary and the Office of the Governor to create and implement Service First, the Governor's initiative to reform state government operations. As lead legal and policy and political advisor to the Secretary, she managed two of the largest enterprise procurements in Florida's history. Ms. Auger graduated with honors from Florida State University College of Law in 1991. She is currently serving a 3-year term on the Board of Trustees for Rollins College, Winter Park, Florida and is a member of Leadership Florida.
