Mr. Spratling is an active member of the firm’s Litigation, Public Finance and State & Local Government practice areas. His public finance experience includes bond, disclosure and underwriter’s counsel representation nationwide. Since being admitted to the Bar in 2006, Mr. Spratling has served as bond, disclosure or underwriter’s counsel on numerous tax-exempt and taxable transactions aggregating over a billion dollars in principal amount. He has represented governmental entities, including: the United States of America, the State of Florida, and a number of Florida counties, cities, housing/housing finance authorities and conduit issuers. His other experience includes creating Florida business entities, assisting in administrative law appeals and effectuating complex utilities sales. As a litigator, among other things, Mr. Spratling has successfully validated novel/complex financing transactions under Chapter 75, Florida Statues. Mr. Spratling’s litigation experience prior to joining the firm includes working as a law clerk in the Economic Crime and Complex Litigation divisions of the Florida Attorney General’s Office. Before joining the firm as an attorney, Mr. Spratling worked as a law clerk with the firm and gained knowledge and experience in all of the firm’s practice areas. He received a Juris Doctor degree from the Florida State University College of Law in May 2006 and two Bachelor of Science Degrees from the Florida State University in August 2002. While in law school, Mr. Spratling was a member of both the Mock Trial and Jessup Moot Court teams, the first student member of the College of Law Board of Directors, and president of both the Black Law Students Association (“BLSA”) and the Student Bar Association (“SBA”). Mr. Spratling is listed in Who's Who in American Law Schools & Universities, 2005 and 2006 editions.
