Keirston R. Woods is an attorney in Bryant Miller Olive’s Washington, D.C. office where she practices in the public finance, real estate, affordable housing, and corporate trust and default departments of the firm. Previously focusing in bankruptcy and general commercial law, Ms. Woods has practiced in both the transactional and litigation practice areas. Ms. Woods has extensive experience structuring and negotiating complex transactions, and drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, and legislation, among other matters. She has also provided legal advice regarding real estate transactions, lending, and financing, as well as federal, state and local compliance issues. Additionally, Ms. Woods has handled litigation for private and commercial clients and served as Associate General Counsel to the Housing Authority of Prince George’s County, Maryland. After receiving an A.B. degree in both Political Science and Sociology from Duke University in May 2000, Ms. Woods earned her J.D. in May 2003 from the George Washington University Law School. While a law student, Ms. Woods served with the Law School’s Jacob Burns Legal Clinic as a student attorney in the Public Justice Advocacy Clinic, where she worked extensively on predatory mortgage lending actions for elderly and low-income clients. In recognition of her work, Ms. Woods was awarded the 2003 West Publishing Award for Clinical Excellence in Consumer Law. Ms. Woods is admitted to practice before the federal and state courts of Maryland and the District of Columbia. Ms Woods is the Treasurer of the Potomac Lighthouse Public Charter School in Washington, D.C. and a member of the Board of Trustees. She is an active member of the Washington Bar Association, for which she serves as a member of the Board of Directors, and was the inaugural chair of the Young Lawyers Committee of the Corporation, Finance & Securities Law Section from 2006 through 2008.
