Greg West is a member of the Public Finance practice at Bryant Miller Olive. For more than 30 years, his practice has been concentrated in the areas of public finance and municipal law, serving as bond counsel, borrower’s counsel, lender’s counsel, letter of credit bank counsel, trustee’s counsel and underwriter’s counsel.
He began his legal career as a judicial law clerk from 1983 to 1985 for Judge Howell W. Melton, U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida. Throughout his career thereafter in Jacksonville law firms, at the firm of Foley & Lardner and continuing at Mahoney Adams and Criser and then at his own firm, he has handled traditional city, county, school district and authority revenue and general obligation bonds and notes, conduit financings, lease-purchase financings, and private activity bonds. He joined the Jacksonville office of Bryant Miller and Olive in 2006.
Mr. West served from 2010 through 2013 on the Florida Board of Bar Examiners by appointment of the Supreme Court of the State of Florida. From 2013 to 2016 he continued to serve as an Emeritus Member.
Greg West is rated “AV Preeminent” by Martindale-Hubbell. He was first published in The Bond Buyer’s Municipal Marketplace as bond counsel in 1986. He is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers, and has served on a number of occasions as a panelist at the annual Bond Attorneys Workshop. Mr. West graduated from the University of Florida College Of Law, with honors.
