Monique Johnson joined Bryant Miller Olive in 2003 and continues to practice exclusively in the public finance and affordable housing areas. She has extensive experience serving as bond counsel, underwriter's counsel and disclosure counsel in complex public financings within the State of Florida. Ms. Johnson has served many issuers throughout the State of Florida, including Polk County, Brevard County, Hillsborough County, the City of Lakeland, the City of Gainesville, the City of St. Petersburg, the Reedy Creek Improvement District, the Housing Finance Authorities of Polk, Orange, Duval, Hillsborough, Broward and Miami-Dade Counties, and other governmental issuers. She also has extensive experience serving as disclosure counsel or underwriter’s counsel. Ms. Johnson is a member of NABL and is listed in the Municipal Bond Attorneys section of The Bond Buyer's Municipal Marketplace. Ms. Johnson graduated from the Valparaiso University School of Law in 1987 and was admitted that same year to the Arizona Bar. She practiced law in the area of public finance for the law firm of Chapman and Cutler in Phoenix, Arizona until 1989. Ms. Johnson was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1989 and continued practicing in the area of public finance as an associate with, and later as a partner in, the law firm of Holland & Knight in Lakeland, Florida. In 1996, Ms. Johnson relocated to Connecticut and was admitted to practice law in Connecticut in October of that year.
