Randy Hanna leaves Bryant Miller Olive to become interim dean of FSU's Panama City campus and the College of Applied Studies

Bryant Miller Olive’s Randy Hanna, a former Chancellor of the Florida College System, is returning to his higher education roots and has accepted a position as the interim dean of Florida State University’s Panama City campus and the College of Applied Studies there.

“While we are saddened to see our friend and colleague move on, we all know that higher education is where Randy’s heart is, and we are excited for him as he begins this next chapter in his career,” said Grace Dunlap, managing shareholder for Bryant Miller Olive. “Our loss is Florida State’s gain.”

Randy began his law career at BMO back in 1984, and served as a managing shareholder of the firm from 1998-2011 before leaving to serve as the Chancellor for the Florida College System. He returned to BMO in January 2015.

Randy has played an integral role in developing and building numerous practice areas at BMO, including state and local government relations, higher education, public finance and public private partnerships.

Randy earned his law degree from Florida State University with honors in 1983, and earned a Masters of Business Administration from Emory University in 2004.

“Randy Hanna is a dynamic and respected leader in Florida higher education,” said Sally McRorie, provost and executive vice president for Academic Affairs at FSU, in a statement. “His invaluable experience leading the state’s largest system of higher education will dramatically benefit FSU Panama City.”

Added Randy: “FSU Panama City and the College of Applied Studies are important parts of the educational landscape of Northwest Florida, and I look forward to doing everything I can to ensure that they continue to deliver outstanding educational opportunities to students.”
