Robert Freeman began his legal career as a law clerk from 1973 to 1975 for Judge Bryan Simpson, U. S. Court of Appeals.
He was a partner in the firm of Freeman, Richardson & Watson from 1977 to 1989 and a partner in the firm of Squire, Sanders & Dempsey L.L.P.,
from 1989 through 2004. During the period from 1978 to present he has represented counties, cities, utility authorities, school districts,
and special districts as bond and disclosure counsel in traditional areas of public finance, including general obligation bonds, revenue bonds,
special assessment bonds and excise tax bonds. He has experience in the financing of utility system acquisitions and charter schools and in
structuring forward delivery bond issues and interest rate swaps. Mr. Freeman is a member of the Florida Bar, the State Bar of Georgia (inactive),
the National Association of Bond Lawyers and is listed in the Municipal Bond Attorneys section of the Bond Buyer’s Municipal Marketplace.
Mr. Freeman received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Georgia Law School, where he was Notes Editor of the Georgia Law Review, in 1972.
