Before joining Bryant Miller Olive, Steve Johnson handled public finance matters at Foley & Judell in New Orleans, Louisiana. Mr. Johnson acted as bond counsel in numerous revenue, sales tax and general obligation bond issuances for various municipalities and political subdivisions, including a revenue issuance for a public utility to provide fiber optic internet access to its community. He also has handled several bond validation suits for the City of New Orleans and the State of Louisiana. He has extensive experience in complex commercial transactions and financing arrangements. He handled major acquisition activity for Saudi Aramco for twelve years, including handling the financing and purchase/construction agreements of approximately $1.8 billion in transportation assets. His transactional experience also includes conducting due diligence work and negotiating documentation for international and domestic M&A activity. He is a member of the Florida Bar, Louisiana Bar, Texas Bar and National Association of Bond Lawyers.  He received a JD degree cum laude in 1982 from Tulane University and later in his career an LLM in Taxation from the University of Florida.
