Nikki C. Day B.C.S. of Bryant Miller Olive P.A. Honored with 2022 Chair Service Award by The Florida Bar's City, County and Local Government Law Section

Tampa, Fla. – Bryant Miller Olive P.A. (BMO) is pleased to announce that Nikki C. Day, B.C.S. has been awarded the 2022 Chair Service Award.

The prestigious award is presented annually by the City, County, and Local Government Law (CCLGL) Section of The Florida Bar. This award, one of only three awards given by the Section, honors one attorney each year for their outstanding service to the Section.

“In a Section full of volunteers, this year’s Chair Service Award recipient, Nikki Day, stands out as going above and beyond for the Section, volunteering to work on projects, coordinating and moderating CLEs, and presenting at webinars and conferences,” said Amanda Coffey, CCLGL 2021-22 Section Chair. “Nikki approaches every project with cheerful energy, competence, and determination that guarantees she’ll accomplish her goals. I am proud to be able to work with this impressive individual and to call her a friend.”

The CCLGL Section, which represents the interests of Florida’s local government attorneys and has approximately 1,700 members, functions as a vehicle for lawyers who serve local governments. It helps them to build networks, exchange ideas, continue their legal education, and advocate on issues important to them and their clients.

“It is a great honor to be recognized by my peers in the local government legal community with this distinguished award,” stated Day. “I’ve committed my entire career to representing Florida’s city, county, and state governmental entities, and this award inspires me and my team to continue this important work.”

“Nikki is an outstanding choice for the 2022 Chair Service Award,” said JoLinda Herring, Esq., BMO’s CEO and Managing Shareholder. “Nikki is always committed to breaking glass ceilings and being ahead of the latest trends and their impacts on local governments. She is a true leader in the community as well as in the field of Local Government law, and this award is a testament to her hard work.”

Day is a shareholder and practice group leader at BMO, where she practices from BMO’s Tampa office. She is board-certified by The Florida Bar in City, County & Local Government Law and currently serves on the City County & Local Government Law Board Certification Committee and the Executive Council for the CCLGL Section.

Day is general counsel to the cities of Safety Harbor, Dunedin, and Largo, and the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA). She also serves as special counsel to other cities, counties, and local governments throughout the state.
