Bryant Miller Olive welcomes attorneys Nate and Milford as new shareholders

National public finance and local government law firm Bryant Miller Olive is pleased to announce the promotion of two attorneys to shareholder status. The attorneys, Will Milford and Nicole “Nikki” Nate, represent a range of practice areas including public finance, state and local government, and litigation.

Will Milford joined BMO as an attorney in 2011, focusing his practice on the federal income tax treatment of tax-exempt debt obligations. Milford serves as tax counsel on a variety of governmental, 501(c)3 and exempt facility bond financings, where he works with governmental issuers and conduit borrowers to review and structure proposed new money and refunding obligations. Milford’s history with BMO dates to 2006, as he developed a deep background in public finance while serving as a Senior Consultant for Integrity Public Finance Consulting, a BMO subsidiary specializing in arbitrage rebate compliance.

A member of both the Florida Bar and Connecticut Bar, Milford graduated cum laude from the University of Florida College of Law in 2011. He is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers, serves as Chair of NABL’s Section 103 Editorial Board and is an active member of the NABL Tax Committee and frequent NABL panelist.

Nicole “Nikki” Nate re-joined BMO’s State & Local Government and Litigation practice groups in 2012, after clerking at BMO during law school in 2008-2009. Her primary practice includes representing cities, counties and local governments throughout the state in all manner of legal matters, including corporate governance, public finance, and complex litigation. Nate is board certified by the Florida Bar in City, County & Local Government Law.

A Florida native, Nate graduated cum laude from Stetson University College of Law in 2009 and cum laude from the University of Central Florida in 2006. In 2017, she was named to Business Observer’s “Top 40 under 40” and was previously named a “Legal Elite Up and Comer” by Florida Trend magazine.

“Not only are Will and Nikki experts in their chosen practice areas, they demonstrate the professional characteristics we seek to develop at Bryant Miller Olive: bright, collaborative and client-focused,” said Grace Dunlap, managing shareholder. “We wish them every success as they continue to prosper in their new roles.”
