Hillary Ryan is part of the Bryant Miller Olive, State and Local Government practice group in Tampa, Florida. Mrs. Ryan focuses her practice on representing and advising state and local governments, and government entities as both general and special counsel.
Mrs. Ryan has been practicing law for 11 years primarily focusing on Florida Government service with various state agencies and local government entities drafting legislation, managing federal funds, completing complex transactions, conducting administrative and appellate litigation, and advising and presenting to a variety of government boards.
Prior to joining Bryant Miller Olive, Mrs. Ryan served the Sarasota County Board of County Commissioners as the lead attorney to Economic Development, Grants, Solid Waste, Stormwater Environmental Utility, and the Offices of Housing and Community Development and UF/IFAS Extension and Sustainability. Mrs. Ryan served as Senior Attorney for the Southwest Florida Water Management District after focusing her practice on the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity in various roles such as: Chief of Transactions; Chief, Bureaus of Community Revitalization & Assistance; and Assistant General Counsel, Office of the General Counsel. Mrs. Ryan served as Assistant General Counsel to the Medical Prosecution Services Unit representing the Department of Health. Mrs. Ryan’s experience also includes serving as the Program Attorney for the Office of the General Counsel advising various program areas within the Department of Management Services. Mrs. Ryan began her Legal career in Tallahassee, Florida serving the City of Tallahassee and Second Judicial Circuit.
Mrs. Ryan received her Juris Doctorate from Florida State University College of Law. During her time in Law School, she was a member of the Honor Society and Mock Trial team, listed on the Dean’s Honor Roll, and recipient of the Civil Rights Scholarship. Mrs. Ryan received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Minor in Government and Public Affairs from Christopher Newport University where she graduated Cum Laude.
