Paralegal/Legal Assistant

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Paralegal/Legal Assistant to support the Public Finance group of our Miami office.

Responsibilities include word processing, drafting and editing documents in Microsoft Word; organizing bond closing transcripts; filing IRS, UCC and state forms; assisting with requests for proposals; recording documents in various counties; preparation for, coordinating and scheduling bond closings; coordinating post-closing process; copying and scanning documents; communicating with clients through telephone and e-mail; ability to examine, evaluate and summarize large quantities of information with respect to public financings, including numerical data; ability to review and understand at a rudimentary level (initially with some guidance), basic financial statements of governmental entities (including audits and budgets), for the purpose of incorporating data into an offering document; ability to perform simple mathematical computations (including the calculation of ratios) and analyze for inclusion in offering documents; and other duties as needed.

Qualifications include at least two years of experience and a four-year degree preferred; strong word processing skills with advanced knowledge in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel; ability to work independently or in a team-environment; must be a self-starter; excellent proof-reading and editing skills; effective and personable communication skills; meticulous attention to detail; ability to prioritize and multi-task; and flexibility for overtime. Candidates with public finance, real estate or other types of transactional law experience will be given preference.
