Bryant Miller Olive lawyers recognized as 2016 Florida Legal Elite by Florida Trend magazine
Bryant Miller Olive is honored to announce that seven of its lawyers have been recognized by Florida Trend magazine as 2016 Florida Legal Elite™. The lawyers are Ken Artin, James Crosland, David Miller, Michael Elkins, Duane D. Draper, Nikki Nate and Ellie Neiberger.
Ken Artin, from the Orlando office, and Duane Draper, from the Tampa office, were both recognized in the Banking/Financial practice area. From the Miami office, James Crosland, David Miller and Michael Elkins were all recognized in the Labor and Employment practice area, while Ellie Neiberger was recognized in the Appellate practice area. And Nikki Nate, from the Tampa office, was recognized in the Up & Comer category.
Ken Artin has actively practiced public finance law since 1986. He has represented municipalities, counties, school districts and special taxing districts as disclosure counsel, bond counsel and special tax counsel. Ken is the current President of the National Association of Bond Lawyers.
James Crosland is Board-Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Florida Bar, which designates him as an expert in the field. He has represented management exclusively in the practice of labor and employment law for almost 40 years, advising clients in both the private and public sectors in maintaining a union-free workplace environment.
David Miller is also Board-Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Florida Bar, which designates him as an expert in the field as well. He represents management exclusively. His primary focus is in three areas – dealing with labor unions, employment litigation, and helping managers deal with day-to-day issues, such as training, compliance, policies and procedures, drafting ordinances, and public records.
Michael Elkins practices labor and employment law, working closely with clients to quickly resolve employee-related disputes and dispose of pending claims efficiently. His employment litigation background provides clients with additional insight when counseling on strategies to avoid litigation, and to maintain positive relations with employees.
Ellie Neiberger practices appellate advocacy and litigation, with an emphasis on representing Florida governments in high-profile and complex cases and cases of first impression. She represents clients in appeals, original proceedings for extraordinary writs, and trial and administrative-level litigation.
Duane Draper practices public finance law. He currently co-chairs Bryant Miller Olive’s Public Finance practice area and has been in public finance either as an attorney or investment banker since 1989. He is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers and the Local Government Section of The Florida Bar, and focuses primarily on bond counsel and disclosure counsel representations.
Nikki Nate was recognized as an Up & Comer, a list of attorneys under 40 who represent the future of the legal profession in Florida. She is a member of Bryant Miller Olive’s State & Local Government and Litigation practice groups, where her primary practice includes representing city, county, and state governmental entities in all manner of legal matters, including corporate governance and complex litigation.
