Jacina Parson
PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY
Jacina Parson is Board-Certified in City, County and Local Government Law by the Florida Bar and a member of Bryant Miller Olive’s Government Council Services practice group. Ms. Parson has over 17 years of experience as a Florida attorney and focuses her practice on the representation of city and special district entities in a variety of complex legal matters related to corporate governance, land use, public procurement, ethics, public records, employment law, Sunshine Law, real property issues, and civil litigation matters.
Prior to joining Bryant Miller Olive, Ms. Parson served as Pinellas County Senior Assistant County Attorney, providing legal representation to the County Property Appraiser, Construction Licensing Board, Public Library Cooperative and Purchasing Department. Jacina also served as the - Director for The Florida Bar – Henry Latimer Center for Professionalism, creating and presenting innovative curriculum and Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs around the state on professionalism, ethics, social media, and mentoring. Ms. Parson served as an attorney for Legal Services of North Florida Inc., where she provided legal representation in dissolution of marriage, timesharing, child support and dependency cases. Her role included supervising volunteer attorneys providing legal advice. Ms . Parson began her legal career with the Ninth Judicial Public Defender's office where she handled all aspects of legal defense and took appropriate cases to trial in county and circuit court.
Ms. Parson regularly writes and presents on legal topics for a variety of organizations such as The Florida Department of Health Lawyers, The Florida Bar’s Leadership Academy, Young Lawyers Division of the Florida Bar, and for law school’s throughout the state. Ms. Parson is involved in a variety of trainings and workshops related to her legal expertise in Professionalism, Labor Law, Sunshine Law, and Ethics. Her professional service includes, but is not limited to, serving on the Executive Council and Past Chair for the Solo and Small Firm Section of the Florida Bar, Pinellas County Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, and The Florida Bar Designee for The Supreme Court Committee on Fairness and Diversity. Ms. Parson is also a member of the Junior League of Tampa Bay.
Ms. Parson received her Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law after receiving her B.A. in Criminology, with honors, from the University of Florida.
